Abstract

 This paper examines the rights of minorities in Pakistani society considering Seerah literature. Contents analysis method has been used in the study. The study discloses that Prophet of Islam had religious tolerance towards other religions. The Prophet delt well with people of other religions and set an example from his life particularly in the Islamic state of Madinah. Pakistan is an Islamic state where minorities are four percent of the total population. Constitution of Pakistan guaranteed fundamental rights to the minorities. But minorities are said to face religious hatred in the country. Jurawala incident is a current example of such issues where many churches were set on fire by angry Muslims’ mobs on blasphemous allegations.
