Abstract

This article explores the topic of women's inclusion in Islamic consultation (Shura), particularly in the context of the Caliphate of Umar (RA). It elucidates the literal and technical meanings of Shura and provides examples of women's participation in consultation within Islamic traditions. The article also discusses the unjust treatment of women prior to Islam and sheds light on the dignity and respect Islam accorded to women. The author substantiates, with references to the Quran and Hadith that women can indeed be part of Shura and emphasizes the equality of men and women in this regard. By citing examples from the era of Caliph Umar (RA), the significance of women's participation in consultation is highlighted. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the importance of Women's participation in Shura and their rights within Islamic society.
