Abstract

Shahid Naqvi, a renowned poet from Karachi, has made a name for himself in the field of elegy writing. With over a dozen published collections of elegies, Naqvi's poetry is known for its intellectual and philosophical depth. Naqvi's elegies are not limited to mere lamentation, but rather provide a logical and scholarly analysis of the events of Karbala and the martyrdom of Imam Husain. His poetry is characterized by its unique blend of thought, imagination, and literary skill.The collection "Romal-e-Zahra" is a beautiful compilation of ten elegies, each one a masterpiece in its own right. The collection includes both elegies on the tragedy of Karbala and personal elegies. Naqvi's poetry is notable for its ability to present complex ideas in a simple and elegant manner. His use of language is masterful, and his ability to convey deep emotions through his words is unparalleled.In the realm of elegy writing, Naqvi is a pioneer, and his poetry has set a new standard for others to follow.
