Abstract

This research conducts an in-depth analytical study on the style of Ijtihad employed by Ibn Hazm, a prominent Islamic jurist and theologian of the 11th century. Focusing on Ibn Hazm's unique approach to Ijtihad, the study examines the sources, principles, and methodologies that shaped his legal reasoning and decision-making process. By exploring key works such as "Al-Muhalla," the research seeks to unravel the distinctive features of Ibn Hazm's Ijtihad style, shedding light on his contributions to Islamic jurisprudence. The analysis also considers the historical and intellectual context in which Ibn Hazm operated, providing a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing his legal thought. This study contributes to the broader discourse on Islamic legal theory by offering insights into the diversity of Ijtihad methodologies and enriching our appreciation of Ibn Hazm's juristic legacy.
